Squash Gear News | Head launches brand new 2021 Speed rackets

After a turbulent start to the year in the UK, we’re now back on the squash courts and no doubt eager to play again. Today, Thursday 6 May, Head has launched its brand new Speed rackets. This marks the first of hopefully many new rackets to hit the shelves this year!

Previous season’s range – Amazon UK

After the success of the previous range of Speed rackets, including being endorsed by none other than world #3 Paul Coll, the rackets have been updated with new technologies and colour ways for 2021.

You can check out our review of the older Speed Slimbody 120. If traditional shaped rackets are more up your street, you can check out our review of the highly-recommended Head Radical racket range.

What’s new with the Head Speed range?

All the rackets now feature their updated Graphene 360+ technology, which promises enhanced flex in the frame with a cleaner impact feel.

The non-slimbody rackets have also been re-engineered to provide even more power and an improved feel over their older counterparts. This has been achieved by designing a new octagonal shaped shaft, which is thinner at the top and thicker towards the base.

Penny Toogood, Marketing and Communications Manager for Head said: “We’ve developed these rackets with feedback from both professionals and amateurs to design a range that suits all players. We are proud of the new faster Speed series with upgraded Graphene 360+ technology and look forward to seeing the new rackets out on court. This updated range is being endorsed by our newest member of the HEAD team Paul Coll.”

Alongside Paul Coll, fellow New Zealander Joelle King will be endorsing the Speed 135 Slimbody, and world #13 Saurav Ghosal will be endorsing the Speed 120.

Eye catching new colours

The rackets certainly look the business with their all new colour schemes. The headline 120SB has a super-sleek black and gold combination, the 135SB features a clean black and white look, the 120 has a black, silver and green combination, and the 135 is made up of various shades of blue.

All these rackets are pre-strung in Head’s Reflex 1.2 string, and come with their Hydrosorb grip, which is definitely one of the better stock grips out there. Both the strings and grips are colour matched to the rackets – a nice touch!

These rackets are now available in the UK exclusively from PDH Sports. Keep your eyes peeled for our full review of the new Speed range of rackets.
