Just in time for the annual Squash World Championships, Dunlop has today launched their brand new range of teardrop-shaped Sonic Core Revelation rackets, now available for pre-order at PDH Sports.
These rackets use Dunlop’s new Sonic Core and Infinergy technology, introduced in last year’s traditional and hybrid shaped racket launches.
This technology utilises the same foam/cushioning technology as-seen in the immensely-popular Adidas Boost shoes. By placing this compound inside the racket at 10 and 2 O’Clock within the frame, Dunlop claims this increases power from the rackets, while giving a better feel from the strings, alongside increasing the size of the sweet spot and reducing vibrations through the racket.
The rackets are another showcase of Dunlop’s recent partnership with Japanese company Srixon, who have been pivotal in the research and development of their squash rackets.
I was fortunate to have a quick hit with each of these rackets a few weeks prior to their launch date, and initial impressions were really strong. I’m looking forward to spending more time with the rackets, and will be sharing full reviews over the coming weeks and months.

Dunlop Sonic Core Revelation Pro
This racket is endorsed by current world #1 Ali Farag (July 2021). It’s a unique racket designed exactly to Ali’s specifications. Often when players design their own rackets, their specifications are ‘dampened’ to suit a wider variety of players. This racket hits different.
With a weight of 128 grams, but an extra head-heavy balance, no other racket on the market comes close to this one. Having used the previous iteration of this racket, it takes some getting used to. Once you’ve used it a handful of times however, you really get a feel for what the racket’s about. Well weighted drives to the back of the court are absolute second-nature with a racket like this.

Dunlop Sonic Core Revelation Pro Lite
Featuring an identical frame-shape to the Revelation Pro, but with a head light balance and lighter 125g frame weight, this racket should feel comfortable in the hands of most players. It’s endorsed by top English player, world #6 Sarah-Jane Perry.
Like the Revelation Pro, this racket also has a 490cm head and a 14×19 stringing pattern, fantastic for players who favour control-focused rackets.

Dunlop Sonic Core Revelation 125
Who doesn’t love an all black racket? Without doubt one of the best looking rackets on the market, rivalled only by the Head Speed 120 Slimbody. At 125g this matte-black frame is lightweight, with an extra-head-light balance. These stats mean it should suit players who value manoeuvrability in their squash racket.
Unlike the Revelation Pro Lite, this has a larger head size at 500cm. It also has a sparser 14×18 stringing pattern and a thicker beam. This should in theory make the racket more powerful than its red-painted sibling, albeit at the cost of control. This racket is endorsed by world #17 Tinne Gilis.

Dunlop Sonic Core Revelation 135
The new Sonic Core Revelation 135 is Marketed as the most powerful racket in Dunlop’s arsenal. This racket has a sleek black and red colour scheme, with a fan style stringing pattern which dunlop has named ‘Powermax’.
Like the Revelation 125, this racket also has a 500cm head size and a thicker beam. Combined with the Powermax stringing pattern, this racket firmly caters towards players looking for a racket that provides effortless power. This racket is endorsed by world #26 Eain Yow Ng.
